    A King and Queen, after many years of prayers, get a baby girl. She has beauty and immense godly power. They dont get any good proposal for her, so they tell her to find some one special by touring the country. She goes to many places & finally falls in love with a person who has good values, is knowledgeable and is fearless. Both his parents are blind. Savitri, the princess, sees all this and informs her parents and they too agree to the match. But all is not well in heaven. Yamraj, the God of death, predicts the death of Satyavan, Savitri's husband, within a year of marriage. Narad Muni, the messenger of God Devrishi doesn't agree with Yama. Yama says that it is destined to happen as it is in her fate but Narad says that fate can be changed through penance, fasting & prayers. Narad and Yama plan to meet after one year. Soon after the wedding, Savitri begins her worship and prayers. Things move on smoothly till one day Satyavan goes to the forest and dies of a snake bite. Savitri is shocked. She goes to heaven to ask for her husbands life. During the course of her journey to heaven she is helped by goddess Laxmi, Kali and Saraswati. She uses her intelligence and transcend across Devlog, Swarnlog and Brahmlog. WIth her intelligence she is able to get 4 boons from Yamraj. The last boon that she asks is her husband's life, which Yamraj grants to her.
