You have big stars, big banner backing you, so the audiences are bound to be attracted. But how one wishes, that they had avoided this Diwali release. Not watching this movie is anyday a better option for Diwali than to watch and dampen your spirits!
The story of the film is ordinary. Extra Marital affair, struggle & romance as backdrop, this film could have been a message oriented film if scripted properly. The story, screenplay & dialogues are written by the director himself. Frankly, I don’t find think he should have taken up so many responsibilities. The first 10 minutes are so damn boring that you can actually think of walking off from the theatre. The film picks up but is still not up to the mark.
Salman Khan has a small role and has nothing to offer. His eyes look like he’s just got up from sleep. He seems not too interested in this movie.
Kareena Kapoor does shine but thanks to the poor script, even she doesnt get a chance to open out as well as she can.
Sohail Khan is fine. His role is similar to the stuffs he has been doing in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya & God Tussi Great Ho. Bappi Lahri has done a commendable job, Yash Tonk is ok. Priety Zinta is not at all 'Happening'. She is just ok.
Music of the movie is another disappoint. Dont Say Alvida is the sole grace while Happening does remain good to some extent.
The director had a good concept, but unfortunately messed it up big time. Neither was this one romantic nor a drama. He had a good cast and a good story, but he lost focus and hence ended in a disastrous fare. Neither is the screenplay anyway tight be it the first half or the second, nor are the dialogues anything interesting. Plain Bad.
The movie lacks soul, good music and of course some good act by the Khans. This is a movie, that landed at Diwali and crashed very well on the same day.
