Ajoy did not believe in religion. He preferred more in labour's slum, cultivator's hut and temples. For that reason Chandranath before his death made a will in which it was clearly mentioned if Ajay could not accept lord Radharaman, then the inheritor of the property would be his daughter-in-law Indu Debi. When Chandranath died Ajoy was sentenced to jail for saving an innocent jute mill worker. After coming out of jail he heard about his father's will he decides to leave his house with wife Indu. But Indu expressed her inability of leaving the place. She said she had given words to her father-in-law that as long she will live the worshipping of lord Radharaman will not be stopped. Ajoy thought that decision of jamindari was preventing her. So the contradiction of father-son continued between husband-wife. The managing director of Ratanhati Jute mill was not only rich but also cunning. On his instruction the rent collector secretly stored all the paddy of the village into the granary of the jamindar. So famine struck the village. As the entire paddy was supposed to send to the town that night. The rent collector refused to give the keys of the granary. On that night Indu went to the villagers and said them to loot the granary. Getting inspiration from Indu, the villagers went to loot the granary. The rent collector and his goons were ready with guns in their hands. But they failed to protect the granary from the villagers.
