    Gautam (Danny Denzongpa) had lent Malhotra (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) Ten lakh Rupees for starting an industry on condition that he would return it in a year. Malhotra could not do so and all his property was auctioned by the creditors. At the end, he left for an unknown destination. After some years, Malhotra had started Gautam Industries and was doing a roaring business which was sought by Malhotra's friend Prof Niranjan Das (Prem Chopra), who was actually a smuggler. Malhotra's daughter Seema (Dimple Kapadia) was to marry Gautam's son Vijay (Sunny Deol) as decided earlier by Malhotra and Gautam, when Seema and Vijay were very young. Now since Gautam and his family is unknown to all, Malhotra's family tries to finds them all over place. Niranjan Das thought for a master plan. He sends his own son Rupesh (Arjun) disguised as Vijay due to some situations created by Prof Das. Seema had an encounter with Rupesh where she has an accident and loses her memory. She is taken care of by Gautam who finds her unconscious. Gautam does not allow anyone to go near to Seema not even Vijay. But after some difficult attempts by Vijay, Seema finds her memory back and Vijay gets back to his father and sets out to apprehend Roopesh and Prof. Das. In the end, both families unite happily.
