Recent Albums - 7 Khoon Maaf,

Outlook - Vishal Bhardwaj - A Gallant all-round Bollywood personality who has been serving the nation with his ceaseless accomplishments.Any Project he steps in , he is a guaranteed highflier. In the shoes of a composer, 'Kaminey' and 'Ishqiya' were entirely celebrated and illustrious works. Even '7 khoon maaf' was widely appreciated. Almost after two years, he returns back with a nicely laid platform. His latest
'Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola' is a typical Haryanvi Desi Masala Flick with young and tallented cast- Imraan Khan, Anushka
Sharma while Pankaj Kapur is a prominent actor. So, 'MKBKM' is expected to be an extremely intriguing show. The everlasting award-winning hit combo of Bhardwaj-Gulzar yet another time prepares themselves to deliver big and drive home safe.Don't forget each album produced superlative songs -'7 Khoon Maaf '- Darling ,'Kaminey' - Dhan Te Na, 'Ishqiyan'- Dil To Baccha Hai ji'. We back these legends to repeat the spirit of these eminent soundtracks, with
      varied styles and genres.

      Review -

Track 1 -'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'
      ( Sukhwinder Singh, Ranjit Bharot)

The highly septic and speedy title track relies more on 'desi' instruments like the 'dholak',harmonium served with a dose of western arrangements like guitar and bagpipes to give it that modern - day touch, some beat-box styles and those ruffian cries all having that ample rural feel and piquant burning taste. After Top-notchs - 'Ib-ne Batuta','Dhan Te na' and 'Omkara' ,Sukhwinder Singh once more mounts with his stunning vocals and Haryanvi accents that are just too perfect. As again Sir Gulzar presents an interesting lay out in his lyrics that are very rustic.Stating in a Haryanvi pattern ,this title-track is an ultimate winner. Each Second exhibits Paagalpanti.
      ('A HOOLIGANS Styled').

Track 2 - 'Khamakha' (Vishal Bharadwaj , Prem Dehati)

Khamkha commences with African Catchphrases that are hard to mention and understand. Leaving it aside, 'Khamkha' is a beautifully, precisely and clearly expressed track. With Vishal himself holding the mic, attracts strongly with his lovely vocalization.Keeps you Hooked up from the start to end.Very Lovely piano divertimentos and delightful musical orchestrations appeals the tempo and nature of this mesmerising composition. Prem Dehati nicely supports well with his haryanvi passage that will mostly appeal to the centre.Lyrics are heartwarming giving you immense gladness and pleasure.Still this track demands some good hearing to ensue flying results! [Endaring!]

Track 3 - 'Oye Boy Charlie' (Rekha Bharadwaj , Shankar Mahadevan, Mohit Chauhan)

'Oye Boy Charlie' is full-on 'Pataka' track.Inspired from his(Vishal Bharadwaj's) own 'Kaminey' character -Charlie. It is a Highly enjoyable number, thanks to some superbly incorporated fine singing by Rekha Bharadwaj , Shankar and Mohit Chauhan. With the earthy and folk based musical root, some blissful harmonium and rational tabla presents 'oye boy charlie'- a highly charged dance track.Carrying on the funny fervor, it results out to be an entertainer and youth oriented.Yet again Sir Gulzar's words are written with immense enthusiasm that satisifies the youthful Call for.Special mention to Rekha's melodious vocals that are always producing superlative results -Smooth and Free Flowing .
'Charlie' ne Baazi maar li.... !

Track 4 - ' Lootnewale' (Sukhwinder Singh , Master Saleem)

Its time to get connected to the Real Haryanvi Terrestrial Survival. Ahh! this is a very interesting sashay. 'Lootneywale' is a work of extreme dignity. Sukhwinder
singh and Master Saleem are one of their own kinds. Nobody can make replica of their prominent vocals. Once again they excells under this Vishal Bharadwaj banner!
And again, Sir Gulzar provides breathless Pure Haryanvi indites that are presented in a terrific story-form.With lot of high drummings and desi musical instrumentations, this is a sure-short winner when pictured well.

Track 5 - 'BadalUthiya' (Rekha Bharadwaj)

Well Well ! Rekha Bharadwaj is always a melodic concern to listen to. 'Badal Uthiya' can be a difficult strain to be a sipped by all ,as its almost all lyrical formations are in pure haryanvi language. So giving a breif idea , this song actually relates to the feeling of a girl who cherises the beauty of monsoon's with her mate which is described precisely. Lyrics are characterised by lovely poetic feel. With beautiful sitar, some rock ballads and polite singing of Rehka Bharadwaj ,its should be nice track to deal with, given a promised picturesque .There is also a Reprise of this track by Prem Dehati which is worth a listen to.

Track 6- 'Chaar Dina Ki' ( Pankaj Kapur, Imran Khan, Prem Dehati)

Reversing to the madness, the vocals of Pankaj Kapur and Imran Khan are quite crazy. Words like - 'Bina Signal Ka mobile Phone', 'Ghooskhor Budhia' and more on
are funny to attract the fans.Moving on,'Chaar Dina Ki' is a brush-off track easliy.

      Final Verdict -

On the whole, 'MKBKM' is a mere ordinary soundtrack. Not living upto the high standards of Great Vishal-Gulzar combo, MKBKM offers little value for fans.
'Khamkha' and 'Oye boy charlie' are the picks of the album,With rest of the album in a diluted state. However, the different theme may give some edge to its numbers ,that will be discovered only after the movie is released. Vishal Bharadwaj grooms this African mixed Haryanvi album that results out to bit bushy and lifeless. One would miss the lack of excitement and anxiousness in the soundtrack of MKBKM
      that Vishal Bharadwaj promises to.

Suggested Songs- 'Khamkha' , 'Oye Boy Charlie',' Matri ki Bijlee(Title Track)'.
