Born on 11th April 1981, Mohit Suri has film-maker Mahesh Bhatt for an uncle, actress-director Pooja Bhatt and actor Emraan Hashmi as his cousins. His sister Smilie Suri acted in his movie Kalyug.
Mohit Suri’s Movies
Zeher (2005) was the first movie Suri directed. The screenplay was written by Mahesh Bhatt, it was produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi was the lead with Udita Goswami and Shamita Shetty. The movie was an unofficial replica of Denzel Washington’s Out of Time. It was an average success, while the soundtrack was popular.
Kalyug (2005) with Emraan Hashmi and Kunal Khemu was a success as it delved into the murky world of porn that claims the life of a newly wed woman.
His 2006 release Woh Lamhe was penned by his uncle Mahesh Bhatt and was about his tumultuous relationship with the late Parveen Bhabi. The movie paired Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja and was a moderate success.
Awaarapan in 2007 was not a big show at the box office.
Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009) was a surprise hit even as it’s release date coincided with the award winning Slumdog Millionaire. It was one of the biggest hits among the early releases in 2009. The movie starred Kangana Ranaut, Adhyayan Suman and Emraan Hashmi.
