Mon Je Kore Uru Uru rating: 3 out of 10(Aditya Chakrabarty wrote on 23 Nov 2010)

Mon Je Kore Uru Uru marks the return of Hiron after nearly a year as he had been laid back due to an injury and Risk had been most probably his last release. The film lacks anything solid to make it into a hit, though it is an okay film.

Rahul falls in love at first sight with Diya whom he sees on the road one day though he doesn’t know her name. One day he and his friends go to kidnap his friend’s girlfriend (also known as Diya) who is getting married against her wishes, but they get the wrong girl and get Diya. Her marriage had also been fixed with her father’s friend’s son and so she had been planning to run away .This comes as a boon for her and she is delighted. She wants to go to Siligiri to Shalini’s place so Rahul and her friends accompany her there. However the police are hot on their heels and thereafter the goons take over. The friends are separated from Rahul and Diya and they are left on their own. They somehow manage to reach Siliguri only to discover that Shalini has gone to Delhi. They decide to go to Rahul’s house and Diya hides there for a few days without Rahul’s father knowing anything. The cops spot them one day on the road and land up at Rahul’s house. They come out in the open and when they go to the police station, they confess their love for each other though Diya actually lies to save the situation.

Diya calls up Rahul and tells him that she loves Vicky, her boyfriend from London .She wants him to go to her father and tell him about Vicky so that her father accepts Vicky. She considers Rahul to be her closest friend and so he agrees to do it as he is shocked.Rahul goes and speaks to Diya’s father and her marriage is fixed to Rahul.
Diya starts depending extremely on Rahul and Vicky does not like it. When she goes to invite Rahul’s parents one day, she overhears a family conversation where Rahul confesses his love for her. She is shocked to know this as she knew that Rahul had never told directly that he loved her. On the day of her marriage, just when the actual formalities are to begin, she tells Vicky that she loves Rahul and therefore can’t marry him. She goes and tries to find Rahul everywhere but can’t find him anywhere. Finally she finds him walking down a road. They get together.

The film is a very ordinary film with it’s share of melodrama at the end. It also becomes a little too soppy particularly in the scene when Rahul is seen crying with his parents after they discover that Diya is getting married to someone else. Even Diya is shown with tears running down her cheeks.N.K.Salil who has also written the dialogues and has also acted in this film fails to impress with his dialogues. The music is not too great though the title track is still okay. The action sequences are hilarious and probably one of the worst things of the film.Hiron definitely needs to do something about his hairstyle as it is basically just a mess. The star of the film is Laboni Sarkar who is excellent and also gets to laugh and smile for a change instead of only crying and wailing(something which is an expert at doing and she does at least get to cry in this film).Koel is releasing one film after another and she definitely needs a break as none of them are up to the mark.
