    • Mon Mane Na, the new version of a previous Bengali film of the same name starring Prosenjit is absolutely different in it’s content from its namesake. It is the story of Riya (Koel), a daughter of a wealthy businessman who flees from home when her father fixes her marriage with some one against her wishes. She comes across Rahul (Dev), who has stolen a necklace and hides it in Riya’s bag. A guy steals Riya’s bag and Rahul and Riya track him down but the necklace is not on him.     After a brief pause director Sujit Guha is in action again. His latest Bengali film “Mon Mane Na” has been released this Friday. The film is produced by Surinder Films. They have kept their pair of Dev - Koel I their earlier film “Permer Kahini”.

    “Permer Kahini” was Dev - Koel’s first pairing film. Though that film did not click commercially, but the pairing of Dev - Koel was noticed and appreciated.

    Mon Maane Na has been made at a time when Bengali cinema is maturing, hence instances of wrong direction, typical Bengali cinema tactics, etc. are unavoidable. But one can boldly say that romance is at its best and in very few movies in Bengali (or other languages) such wonderful romance is found. Dev has definitely evolved as an actor but will still have to go a long way to be termed as a "good actor".
