Entertainment ka Enemy!!
In the recent past, mythological films like Hanuman, Krishna and the prequel to this one.. My Friend Ganesha, have clicked with the audiences, especially the kids. This could be the most probable reason for Rajiv Ruia to attempt at making a sequel also cashing in on the upcoming Ganesha festival.
And Like most sequels this one too fails to deliver is a different matter altogether.
The plot revolves around a young couple, Harsh Chhaya and Bhairavi Goswami who are having problems in their marital life, and either keep fighting, bickering or arguing with each other. In the midst of this is their only son (Master ali) who is quite perturbed about the happenings around him. He needs solace & relief from all this and longs for a friend with whom he can share his grievances.
Enter the housemaid Gangu Tai ( Upasna Singh) who is an ardent Ganesha devotee and notices the the trauma faced by the child, a fact which is ignored or rather unnoticed by his parents. She introduces the kid to Ganesha, who appears on the scene almost unimaginatively.
What follows is the sequence of events where Ganesha helps the child from various problems, be at home or school.
The film does not offer anything new or different from its prequel. With some real shots and some unreal animation the film appears shoddy in parts. Only a few scenes manage to bring a smile on your face.
Off the performances, Master Ali is sincere, Bhairavi Goswami and Upasana Singh are quite loud at times and Harsh Chhaya is strictly okay. The title track and The Ganesha Aarti are tracks that can be given in a listen.
So Bol meri 'Filmi Khopdi' is film mein kitna hain dum ??
Bilkul dum nahi hai... Overall, the film disappoints, not only the adults but also the kids at
whom its mainly targetted. At most a DVD watch and that too one-time.
