At night when they were about to leave the house they found Sashadhar was standing on their way with a chopper in his hand. Sashadhar wanted to kill Basanti, but as Gouranga resisted, somehow Sashadhar was injured heavily. Gouranga immediately left the place thinking that he had murdered his brother-in-law. He want to his only friend "Master da" and confessed his guilt. Gouranga left the place by the night train. Gouranga was recognized by Aparna at Tribeni. Aparna was a child widow and was an ardent fan of Gouranga's singing. Aparna requested him to go back as he was not the murderer. Gouranga came back and found his brother-in-law Sashadhar alive. Sashadhar requested Gouranga to run away as police was searching for the culprit. Gouranga came to know that Basanti was struck by the chopper in her head. Sashadhar confessed his guilt to Gouranga. Sashadhar told everything to police when they came to arrest Gouranga. Gouranga in order to save his brother-in-law tried to take the guilt on him but Basanti told police that neither Sashadhar nor Gouranga were guilty, it was she who tried to commit suicide by hitting herself on head by the chopper.
