This is a story of the middle class. A story about all of them around the world.....Across geographical frontiers, regardless of caste, creed and religion, the rat like existence of the middle class - the story is a portrayal of that. The word ' Finance' depicting the economical upheavals has its own place in the dictionary, yet there is also a significant sphere in the mental make up too. Hence the upper class, the middle class and the people of the lowest rung are so not only in monetary terms - they are so in respect of their thoughts, beliefs and actions.

The middle class survives in an atmosphere of fear - both known and unknown. Though are most vociferous at meetings and rallies - but they can be silent too. This dilemma engulfs their whole life and the onward road is unsure, beset with ifs and buts. But there are a few, a handful who are of course different. The main characters are Anandababu - a clerk in a government office - his wife Seema. A college going daughter Dolon and a son, Suman studying in the 9th standard of Ramkrishna Mission Ashram. A small family living as a tenant on the fringes of the city. Culturally aware - tasteful, but when the purse strings are tight, the dreams often remain distant.

A coward by nature - Anandababu is attuned to accept defeat easily, but his wife Seema is the opposite.
