Sankari daughter of Jamindar Kedar Choudhury, was very naughty in her child hood. She maintains the same nature when she became a grown up girl, so it was very difficult to get her a match. At last a match maker was found Jogin. Jogin was a violin player in the 'jarta' group. Shankari was married to Jogin. Kedar and his wife Bhabani were not happy about Jogin. They did not like his profession. So difference of opinions crop up between Jogin and Shankari. Jogin left his father-in-law's house and came to Calcutta. He got a job as a musician in a jatra group. The hero of that group had suddenly left so Jogin started acting as the hero of the plays. Shankari was then expecting a child. Jogin came back to his father-in-law's house with the news of his new job. But Kedar told him to get out of his house. Jogin came back to Calcutta to join his group. He wrote a letter to his father-in-law that Jogin was dead. Getting that letter Kedar was stunned. But Shankari did not believe in that message so she went on using couch bracelet and sindur. But her step mother did not like this attitude. So Shankari left her house. After 17 years it was known that Shankari is staying at attorney Nandalal's house Shankari's daughter Gouri was 16 then. Gouri was also like her mother. One day Gouri met with a handsome zamindar named Rabin. They began to come closer and started liking each other. One night Shankari suddenly woke up from her sleep. She could hear the songs of the jatra pala. Shankari came out of the room. She went to the dressing room of the jatra. Every body thought her to be a theif. Jogin came forward and found Shankari there. At last Gouri got back her father and Rabin his father-in-law. In their marriage Kedar, Bhabani, and Attorney Nanda were also present.
