Surobala and Suryamukhi were childhood friends. At that time Surobala promised her daughter to be married to Suryamukhi's son. But the irony of fate was such that the day when widow Suryamukhi came with her son Bishnu to Surobala's guest house with a hope of getting food, Surobala could not recognize her. So Suryamukhi had to come down literaly on the street, and one day she lost Bishnu from from the street.
