My Rating

  • Narak Guljar rating: 0 out of 10(Aditya Chakrabarty wrote on 24 Feb 2009)

    • This is the worst film to be released in Tollywood in the recent times among films which feature known actors. This film, is a big screen adaption of a play by Manoj Mitra. Other than Debasree, there are a few characters thrown in here and there to make up for this 'jatra' of a film. The story- Bhagwan lives in heaven in a mansion. He has two sidekicks as well as Narad and Yamraj to keep him company always. Life in heaven as well as hell is just like normal life on Earth with it’s usual problems. Narad also doubles up as a politician in order to get people to ask for their demand- to be reborn. A rickshaw puller is living a miserable life on earth and one day he can take it no more and commits suicide. He is taken to heaven and meets Bhagwan who asks him to go to hell. Meanwhile his wife also dies due to a particular reason and lands in hell. The evil people over there eye her, but she is saved by her husband. They then come across Narad who tells them to go back to earth. They are reluctant initially, but they return for the sake of their son. The film is being projected as 'Noisy Hell' though god only knows what it means. It is extremely terrible in all aspects and includes the songs too though it is very surprising that Debajyoti Mishra is the music director. This attempt to potray how similar life is in heaven and hell as on Earth is a complete disaster. By seeing actors like Anup Kumar and seeing how young Debasree and Sumanta Mukherjee look, one can understand how long the film was lying in the cans till it suddenly came across several producers who wanted to finance the film and it was released after so many years.
