Raibahadur Bhabani Prasad had brought up orphan brother sister Jayanta and Kushi. But when Bhabani Prasad found that Jayanata had written in the news paper against those people who had helped him in getting rich and building up his business, he asked Jayanta to get out of his house. Jayanta took Kushi and went away. He took shelter in their own house. Kushi met with her neighbour Pranati. Pranati was the daughter of Nibaran babu, the owner of the press and weekly newspaper “Natun Khabar”. Suddenly one day Jogijiban Samaddar, a candidate of the ensuring election, raided the office of “Natun Khabar” with his gang. They ordered to publish article praising him in the news paper. Nibaran babu did not agree to that. Even Nibaran babu rejected Dharmidhar Choudhury. The press of “Natun Khabar” was kept as mortgage to Dharmidhar who was the owner of seven newspapers. Due to conspiracy of Dharmidhar, the press compositors sat on a strike in “Natun Khabar”. At that time Jayanta joined “Natun Khabar”. Chotelal, the machine man of the press called all the compositors in the press. Due to Jayanta's request and inspiration all the strikers get back to work and started publishing again. Jayanta wrote many strong articles in the paper. Pranati was charmed by those writings. Dharmidhar requested Jayanta to join his press, he promised to make him the editor of a daily paper called “Sadharan”. Jayanta did not agree to his proposal. Then he proposed to finance if “Natun Khabar” be published as a daily newspaper. Nibaran Babu did not want that. As a consequence of that a misunderstanding between Jayanta and Pranati cropped up. As a result, Jayanta left “Natun Khabar” and joined “Dainik Sadharan” as an editor. In the mean time Nibaran babu was injured by the sudden attack by the goons of Dharmidhar. So again Jayanta came back to “Natun Khabar” and started writing article essays. Pranati understood her mistake and they were reunited.
