Director Madhur Bhandarkar has always been well known for bringing to forefront the crude realities of the concealed facets of life; and this time, he is narrating the story of a heroine, her stardom and her downfall. While we cannot deny the fact that the basic outline of the story does remind us of Priyanka Chopra starrer Fashion (2008) which spoke about the rise and fall of a model, we just hope Heroine has more to it!
To begin with this Preview, let's quickly analyze the different aspects involved in it.
The trailer of Heroine is incredible. You will see Kareena Kapoor in a never-seen-before avtaar onscreen – no exaggeration here! Her acting, body language, dialogue delivery, expressions, eye movements – everything is simply outstanding. Her evolution as an actor is quite evident with her acting skills kept on display throughout this trailer. If we go by the trailers, the movie is all about glamour and glitz with emotions embedded underneath. It gives a hint of elements like fame, emotions and down fall of an actress. The trailer is faultless, and will surely attract audience to the theatres.
Sunidhi Chauhan's HALKAT JAWANI is a delightful number and the way Sunidhi croons this number is really amazing. The lyrics are effortless and effective, and one can easily enjoy the song till the end. Kareena's dance steps in the song are well choreographed and you will like that too. SAAIYAAN is a touching, sad song sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who sings it really beautifully, but his voice seems repetitive and similar to his other songs. Otherwise, the song is good and mirrors the emotions of an actress who has nothing left in life. MAIN HEROINE HOON is a more of typical song and has been made just to add a title track in the album. The lyrics try to be innovative with words like gossip, scandal thereby pointing out the highlights of an actress' life, but it hardly impresses. Not a great song to go with. KHWAHISHEIN is a high-quality track and Shreya Ghoshal does a superb job on this song. Her pitches are amazing. This song truly stands out. TUJHPE FIDA by Benny Dayal is an energetic song and can be a good dance number. The track is a bit lengthy, but it's worth listening.
The album has a fair mix of five tracks. The songs of Heroine are not mind-blowing, but will be there for some time.
HEROINE AT THE BOX OFFICE: Considering the fact that “Heroine” has been grabbing headlines even before it started taking shape, the film has caught the attention of many. Moreover, the audience is eagerly waiting to see what shocker Madhur Bhandarkar has in store for them this time! Kareena is a star with a huge fan following. Hence we know that there will be a lot of people who will be rushing in to watch this film. However, the fact that the movie is restricted to only adults may hamper the number of audience though!
Two things are sure for this film:
- It will get a good opening
- Kareena will be appreciated for her performance
- Heroine will be a landmark film in Kareena's career in Bollywood
RECOMMENDATIONS: We are always amazed by the lifestyle of stars. Now go and see how stars decline! Will be a good watch!
