The musical music launch of 'Hemlock Society'

The music launch of Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming film ‘Hemlock Society’ took place at the Metropolis Mall, Hiland Park on Saturday. The film, which is a black satire, stars Parambrata, Koel Mullick, Deepankar Dey, Rupa Ganguly, Silajit, Bratya Basu, Soumitra Chatterjee, and others. The film has been produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. It has been edited by Bodhaditya Banerjee and the cinematographer is Soumik Haldar. The story, screenplay and dialogues are all by the director himself. The film has six songs which include ‘Amar Mawte’, ‘Ekhon Anek Raat’ ,’Ei To Ami Chaai’ and others which have been sung by Lopamudra Mitra, Rupankar, Anupam Roy, Shreya Ghoshal, Rupam Islam and Silajit. Anupam Roy doubles up as the music director and lyricist while Indradeep Dasgupta has composed the ‘Hemlock’ theme.

The music launch on Saturday saw all the singers (including Shreya Ghoshal who happened to be there for a short while and sang her number from the film) being present at the event (except Rupankar) and belt out tracks from the film and Rupam Islam and Anupam Roy even sang their evergreen numbers from ‘Autograph’ and ‘Baishe Srabon’.
