A moment at the event A moment at the event

A convict 's life is neither easy or pleasant. The lives of their children are more pathetic because they always have to live with a stigma and are rarely accepted in society. There are several children whose parents are both convicts and then if it is a girl child, it becomes a harrowing time for them because she is more exposed and vulnerable to the ills prevailing in the society and she is torn between two worlds. The role of the society should be to uplift the cause and see that they get a chance to live life just like any other child as well getting the right privileges. Subhrajit Mitra's Flickering Angels is one such documentary which is about the inmates of one such home near the Bangladesh border and it has been possible thanks to the support of B.D.Sharma , IPS Retd and Sister Marietta whose constant efforts have succeeded in improving the lives of such children. This documentary was screened at Saturday Club on Saturday where the documentary was screened as part of an event( a panel discussion followed the screening) presented by FICCI FLO, Kolkata Chapter where several panellists were present along with the director and producer , Gaurang Jalan.
