Items song have always been the hot favourite of Bollywood and lately they have become a rage, Every director wants an item song in his/her film and every actress wants to be an item girl. After Munni Badnaam, Shiela Ki Jawaani now we have another item number by Prakash Jha. The director well known for his serious films with a dhamaakedar tadkedar item song, has this time roped in the dusky and curvaceous Sameera Reddy to raise the temperature in his latest venture “Chakravyuha”.
But sadly, the song “Kunda Khol”, composed by Sandesh Shandilya, sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, and penned down by Ashish Sahu, is in the same league as other rustic item songs. It has little novelty factor, besides Sameera. Seen in a red choli and skirt, Sameera does a fabulous job as a dancer. However, it's the tune of the song that lacks the spunk – a prerequisite for any item track.
May be director Prakash Jha wanted a song on the lines of Munni Badnaam or Namak Ishq Ka to go with the story of his film, based on the naxal issue. But the item track seems to do little to help the film.
The song is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, the choreographer of cult songs like Baabuji and Chhamma Chhamma; but unfortunately, this song would not be able to make it to the list of his all time groovy songs!
