Nil Nirjane is basically a fusion love story. As the story begins, we find that Jayita and Aman have come for a holiday. They are an unwed couple. Brigadier Dutta has come with his daughter Mou and Rina has come with her daughter Reshmi. Jayita says to Aman that the place seems nice and ideal for lovers. They have come here to make love. Jayita doesn't want to continue this relationship, she wants to come out. Jayita thinks that there is no point in dragging their relationship. She also thinks that their relationship is getting nowhere. But Aman wants to carry on with their relationship, he loves Jayita. Jayita also loves Aman. Resort manager Mr. Bandyopadhyay loves Meghna and he proposes to her. Brigadier Dutta is in defence services and Mou stays in a hostel. Rina is an unmarried single mother. She is a fashion designer. Her daughter Reshmi has grudge against her. Mou and Reshmi become very good friends. Brigadier Dutta and Rina also become very good friends and they share their joys and sorrows. When all of them are enjoying their holiday, the Bangla band Cactus comes there to shoot a music-album. Mou and Reshmi get introduced to them. Everybody enjoys a lot. On the other side, Jayita tries to make Aman to come out from their relationship. But Aman doesn't agree with her. Aman says if they cann't live together they should die together. After death they will be able to live happily. They make an attempt to suicide. They take sleeping pills together. But after taking the sleeping pills suddenly Jayita awakes and she realizes that there is not point in dying like this. She requests Aman to vomit out the pills. But when she sees that Aman is not responding, she runs out and knocks at Rina's door. Brigadier Dutta and Rina take them to hospital. The crisis gets over and they start recovering. The story thus ends on a romantic and happy note.
