Nirada Sundari was one of the early day’s actresses in the Bengali film industry, was born in the year 1889 in Kolkata. Her parents were Mahendralal Dutta and Tarangini Dutta. She could not continue her studies due to some famiy problems
Nirada Sudari was first given chance by director Jyotish Bandopadhay in the talkie film called ‘Krishnakanter Will’ which was released in 1932, in association with ‘Madon Company’. Basically Nirada Sundari was a character artist. She has also worked with artists like Girish Chandra Ghosh, Dani Babu and Aparesh Chandra Mukhopadhay. Nirada Sundari had to lead a tough life because of her family’s poor condition. She was given shelter by actress Shanti Gupta too. On 7th December 1972 the members of the ‘Star Theatres’ had congratulated their theatre group on completing 100 years. Nirada Sundari passed away in the year 1973.
