NIRBAAK :- "Nirbaak" is the most comlicated film by Srijit Mukherjee. The plot is basically founded on another "CHOTUSKON" or quadrilateral. They are :-EGOMANIA,ARBOPHILIA,ZOOPHILIA AND NECROPHILIA. One common thing is there, and that is LOVE. The role that Anjan Dutt has played is of one who is egomania who decks and dines with himself. A domestic-help is there to underline her uncanny lonesome state. Even on his way to the hospital, he interacts with his alter-ego on the glass of the ambulance. Second comes a normal love nexus wit a young man ( Jisu Sengupta). But his doggie with whom Jisu has an extra-pet relationship, takes exception to Susmita's intervention. A big tree has came as a character that gets fascinated with the protagonist lady. The tree too envies the girl's rapport wit theyoung man and displays its emotions by rocking its branches, delivering saps. A storm sets in and the tree dies seemingly a suicidal death. Then comes about an accident causing the death of the lady and her boy-friend in a moribund state. The death does not, however, bring about the end of the story. There crops up a posthumous episode. The morgue-keeper whose expressions are harnessed through popular Hindi film songs gets arrested by the deceased. He dreams many a dream with the deadbody--from courtship to honeymoon. Eventually, the morgue-keeper dies and his body is vaulted in while his sweet-heart's is vaulted out.
The maker has tried to vent the natures of love that surpass the established conviction and convention. That is why thefilm is more rhetoric than realistic. Directorially, the film is world-class, very much experimental, and cannot everybody's cup of tea. Technically, " Nirbaak" is brilliant. In view of acting, all have done justice to their respective portraitures. Ritwik Chakroverty deserves special kudos. His character is the most challenging one. In fact, he is the ultimate speechless with eloquence throughout by virtue of poses, gestures and expostulation.
