Orphan is one movie which will thrill you by its horrifying moments and most of that will surprise you what the secret lies behind this orphan.

Well I didn’t expect much about this movie, and in the start it definitely fulfilled my expectations, so my interest from this film was obviously moving down, down and down. Initially the story was moving very slowly, infact there will be one time where you would finally think that lets get up and move out from this boring film. But just before some 20mins of the Interval, the story picked up like anything. The horrifying scenes, tension build up scenes, the terror from the small little girl “Esther”, and all that thing which need to bite the nails were shown to us after the interval and in a too horrifying way.

In such kind of films (I think in almost all kind of films) the most important factor depends on the climax. If the climax is badly shown then the whole freaking enjoyment of the film will just burst out. But in this case, it’s not, Director Jaume Collet-Serra and Writer David Johnson and Alex Mace did a splendid job. They certainly had build up the tension and shown to us that horrifying and thrilling scenes that even a boy like me who had seen hundreds of Horror films up till now was seriously biting his nails. Now that’s the magic of this film.

The story of the film is very simple and common which you have heard or seen in many other films, but the treatment, the direction, the music were all the plus points which had made such a simple story film into a very entertaining film. The story is about a family where the lady of the house is about to get her third child, first was a boy (now somewhat 8-9yr old) and second one small little girl (3-4yr old). Now this lady, mother of a two child is about to get her third child, she is in the hospital, but the bad news was that her child was born dead. She and her family were very upset with this bad day in their life. Later she and her husband had decided to adopt a girl from orphanage. They like a sweet looking girl name “Esther” (age 14-15) and adopted her. But as the story moved on “Esther” showed her real colors, if someone was little bad to her, she was very cruel to them. Even if in a by-mistake somebody would have hurt her a little, she would make an attempt to kill him/her in a silent way. Initially she started this with outsiders and later the lady of the house was getting something fishy about Esther’s nature, she directly contacted to the Principal of the Orphanage, Sister Abigail. When she started some investigation on Esther, she killed the principal in a silent way by hitting rock on her head over and over again. That was her cruelty which she was showing over and over again.

The story would definitely shock you when the secret will open up to you by who actually this freaking little child “Esther” is! Don’t just think over-dramatic, watch the film and get to know. It’s really something unimaginable and it’s really something which will blow up your mind.

There only two minus point of this film, first one, in some shots boom mic was being able to see clearly. Now that’s the bad sign, but it can definitely be ignored. And the second one is its length, almost 2hrs, and just because of that the film will look like a bit of stretchy in the first half.

Plus points are many, the second half story, the climax, the suspense, and above from all “The Out-Standing” performance given by that small little girl “Esther”.

Overall, a must watch for all the Horror movie lovers!
