WHAT A BEAUTIFULLY SENSITIVE FILM!
I loved Paa! Maybe it had something to do with expectations (I wasn't really expecting much) or just the simple fact that this movie touched my heart - straight as an arrow - I laughed at the witty dialogues and cried my eyes out in the scenes which touched me. A movie for the heart not for the mind!
If you're looking for a movie to analyse - don't watch Paa. If you're looking for a simple movie which just relates to the heart go watch Paa - now!
What emerges from the movie are performances - Amitabh the persona is lost in the character of Auro - and after a while it is Auro and only Auro that you relate to - laughing at his witticisms - his cleverness - and crying with him.
Abhishek comes of age - he is past his gawkiness and delivers a seasoned performance.
Vidya fits the role to a T - and the scenes in which she cries to herself and her interactions with Auro as a mother - are amazingly natural and beautiful.
The movie is subtle, beautiful simple and heartwarming! Go watch it!
