The prosthetic makeup has been done by Hollywood 's Christien Tinsley (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, CATWOMAN) and Dominie Till (THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY)
It's reported that Bachchan's make-up cost 10 per cent of the total budget.
It used to take four to five hours daily for Amitabh Bachchan's makeup to be done for his film PAA.
Not only this, if it used to take four hours to put on the make-up then two hours to remove it.

Since it’s an Indian film I recollect some great actors who did some memorable roles despite of age or health being a big barrier. I remember Balraj Sahani doing Garam Hawa, Meena Kumari doing Paakeza, Prithviraj Kapoor doing Mughal E Azam, Sashi Kapoor doing Muhafiz and few more. Mudhi mudhi (and Udhi udhi) from Paa album could turn out to be one of the hit songs of the year. It's got zing, and is quite superb rendition by Shilpa Rao and truly exceptionally orchestrated! Gumm summ, after its various versions – one in Hindi itself (Aur ek prem kahani’s Sunday ko), still sounds as lilting as the original, Olangal’s Thumbi vaa. Hichki is bit disappointing as muddled, at best, while the intentionally-kiddish Mere paa is barely saved, by the theme interlude.
