Dhanapati was a clerk in a bank. That evening he was still working manager was busy in talking over telephone with his girl friend. After he finished his telephone the moment he came to check the iron chaste. The light went off. In the same night police found the manager dead and there was no money in the chaste. Rohini brought Doctor Talukdar from Calcutta for Mohni's treatment. Rohini gave huge money to Talukdar consequently Mohini died. After that Mohini was found as a frequent visitor to stevedore Kadareswar Chowdhury's house. Kedareswar was interested to get her daughter Rani married with Rohini. But Rani loved poor painter Alok. After the disappearance of Dhanapati, Mamata fell in deep trouble. Mamata with her son was bound to take shelter in Kedareswar's house. The detective department kept Dr. Talukdar and his clinic in a close vigil. Rohini became desperate to get Rani. So he wanted inject poison in Alok's body with the help of doctor Talukdar. Rani found revolver in Rohini's hand. The moment the doctor was about to push the syringe in Alok's body there appeared Mamata, her son, Kedareswar with the police. Rohini's identity was revealed.
