After the Big Hit from Hum Aapke hain Kaun, Madhuri came out with its second release i.e. Raja, again super hit, not that hit compared with HAHK but a hit. Then she came out with this movie, Paapi Ka Devta. I watched the film, the story was Ok, but just because of poor directorship, bad storyline and awful music, this film might be the worst film ever of Madhuri. Especially after her HAHK and RAJA, this was the most shocking experience I got. Thought the story was nice, but the treatment was bad. I guess she must have signed this film just because there is Dharmendra and Jeetendra in this film. much-much more and great senior players than him.
Anyways something about the story now,
In search of better employment prospects, Ram Kumar Singh (Jeetendra) leaves Allahabad and re-locates to Bombay by train. Upon arrival, his wallet and clothes are stolen, he manages to sneak out of the railway station, chased by a Police Constable and takes shelter in a taxi-cab belonging to kind-hearted Rahim Khan (Dharmendra), who takes him home, provides him food, shelter, as well as a taxi-cab so that he can earn money while looking for a job. Both Rahim and Ram become close friends. While driving his taxi on his first day, Ram meets with Reshma (Madhuri Dixit), who studies in Mithibai College and both fall in love with each other. Things change for the better when Ram gets a well-paying job, quits his taxi driving as well as the room with Rahim, and moves out to his own apartment. What Ram does not know is that Rahim works for an underworld Don, Ratan Seth (Amrish Puri), and has also killed a man named Niranjan Das (Satyendra Kapoor). And what Rahim does not know is that Ram is really the Deputy Commissioner of Police who suspects Ram of killing Niranjan Das. Watch what happens when Rahim finds out about Ram's true identity; and also when Ram comes to arrest him without realizing that Reshma is Rahim's sister.
Good story na? But when you will watch the film, you will say, Yuck! What the heck Madhuri is doing in this film? Ahhh forget about Jeetendra and Dharmendra in this film, they were now used to till 1995.
