The direction is embarrassing at times, with long dialogue being repeated ad nauseam, while many scenes appear to have neither beginning nor end nor any context. The film's naïve script includes moments of sheer melodrama and over-exaggeration in its effort to shamelessly manipulate you into caring for its characters.
Everything about the film is one-dimensional. The school itself is a set and looks like a cardboard cut-out. The characters are all good or all bad; there are no shades of grey. It's clear the makers of this film had the seed of a good idea, but lacked the skills to turn it into an engaging film. Worse, the film doesn’t have a clear story line or plot and neither does it have any love affair or epic conflict, which deficit reflects acutely in the actors’ overall performance.
The makers probably hoped the audience would shed a tear or two but the audience is now languishing in a state of apathy and intense boredom. The film meanders on and the audience is wondering whether this is a docu-drama being churned out by Films Division.
Watch it if you want to watch some docu-drama.
