‘Panga’ is a Bengali slang term just like Khallas and when a film has a name like ‘Panga Nibi Na Sala’, it has to be an action film or somewhat on those lines as the term literally means ‘Don’t Mess with Me’. The film is about a goon who terrorizes the residents of a locality and is hand on hand with the O.C of the local police station who turns a blind eye toward all his activities. Anyone who messes with Kali is bumped off. Rohit’s younger sister is killed by Kali’s goons when she witnesses a murder . His father is later arrested on false charges and bumped off by the O.C. Even his mother gets killed later on when she protests. All this transforms Rohit in to a different person and he starts bumping off everyone who has directly or indirectly harmed the family and and tells the world ‘Panga Nibi Na Sala.
The film is a low budget film and stars a few character actors and boasts of no other big names is a big let down. Nothing about the film is okay except maybe one of the female leads of this film, Sujata Mascharak who also doubles up as the music director and also as one of the lyricists of the film. Her act as Papri is probably the only bearable thing of this film, otherwise everything is so bad which includes the action scenes which are atrocious and Sunny who plays Rohit just doesn’t have it in him to become an angry young man nor has any expression on his face nor has any personality. Even more when Rohit transforms himself in to the angry young man hell bent on taking revenge, he is shown to be as ferocious as a tiger as his face resembles half of a tiger and half of a man. Sunny and a tiger? Nothing more needs to be said ! The director also calls himself Prince.
