The film depicts the journey of a woman from being a mere homemaker to a woman seeking her self identity. This search for self identity is sparked off by a young bohemian photographer. The photographer had come to shoot photographs of the Indian houshold using Parama as the model. He ended up changing her life when Parama got both physically and emotionally attached to him. The vivacious young man worked as a positive force in her life. Her long lost hobbies like playing the sitar or writing poems got revived. After the young man left promising to return soon it became very difficult for her to adjust to her old surroundings and family duties. In the meanwhile her husband and other family members got to know of this relationship and ostracised her. She couldnt get any news of Rahul. Out of desperation she tried to commit suicide but failed. Her family members then tried to behave normally with her. They wanted her to forget the past. Aided by her friend she took up a small job. She got some news of Rahul but she was no more interested as she had got a new meaning to her life by then.
