Jaswant Singh takes her son also to his house. Jaswant Singh's wife doesn't differentiate between the two children. The other people keep insulting Jaswant Singh for keeping the son of a dancer in his house and warns him that no one will lend their daughters to his son. But Bade Thakur stands with Jaswant and promises to give his daughter to his son.The two sons Mahesh (Mehmood) and Raja (Raj kapoor) are tutored in music and other fine arts. Raja starts pretending to be a gambler, a drunkard and a thief and is thus thrown out of the house. Raja joins his maternal uncle and plays the tabla and also falls in love with Asha, the daughter of Bade Thakur. But as per promise Bade Thakur arranges his daughter's marriage with Mahesh. So Raja again sacrifices his love, but Asha convinces her father and Bade Thakur cancels her marriage with Mahesh and asks Raja to marry Asha. Jaswant Singh loses his temper and tries to kill Bade Thakur but Raja interferes. Bullets bruise his arm. This opens Jaswant Singh's eyes as he comes to know the truth and at the end accepts both of them.
