Akshay plays this division with unusual maturity. It's a multifarious responsibility to depict since he has to mask the emotional chaos he is experiencing within, yet be dressed in a jolly idiom against all adversity. He also makes sure that his bowling talent looks totally practical on screen and he does honesty to the sport. The foremost and the finest thing that Patiala House does, is redefining the stereotype Akshay Kumar from the funny side comedian to a fabulous actor. He steers away from typecast and cuts out every outline of melodrama and every predictable formula from the film, thereby bringing brightness to the otherwise expected family drama. He underplays his character with complete honesty and gives one of the finest performances of his career.
Rishi Kapoor’s vernacular and body language is something Out-Standing! As Bauji, the experienced actor delivers a dazzling performance, which would grade amongst his unbeatable work when you look back at his memorable career. He builds a vigorous, intimidating air, quite the Bauji-e-azam, redolent of his grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor. He is excellent in his powerful character and as said, his body language, idiom and terminology are flawless.
Anushka is an essential division of the story. She is Akshay's shoulder, an unqualified hold up for him and she fits completely into her character. She isn't unnoticed in this father-son drama and stands on her own. She has a well-etched role and is positive as always.
