Pearl Padamsee (1931-2000) is an Indian theater personality.
Pearl Padamsee was a well-known producer and director of plays in Mumbai, India. She was also an accomplished actor, and performed in at least ten films including Khatta Meetha, Junoon (1978), Baaton Baaton Mein, and Such a Long Journey. Her after-school theater workshops for children influenced the lives of many, even those who did not later go into the performing arts. In an article published in the "International Herald Tribune" writer and diplomat Shashi Tharoor calls her "one of the most talented and experienced figures of the Bombay stage."
Padamsee was of Indian Jewish and Punjabi heritage, but is believed to have become Christian. She was at one time married to Alyque Padamsee and had a daughter Raell Padamsee by him. She also had two children from an earlier marriage. One of them, Ranjit Chowdhry, is an actor.
