This Story is based on the experience of a couple in Kolkata. Gobor and Padma both came to Kolkata. Gobar wants to find his missing brother. On the very first day they face a cheater. Then at police station, a police officer helps them by assigning job in his residence. But that police officer prefers to take bribes. The innocent, simple village couple do not like it. So they leave the shelter. They move on to a dancer-cum-model's residence. The couple get a new look there and jobs as personal assistant. In the meantime Gober finds his missing brother Janerdam, who is engaged in reforming society from present capitalistic culture. But again Gober and Padma, have to leave Shely Sen's house due to her style of living and culture. Then they meet a monk. But the monk is a fraud and tries to destroy Padma's character. So they have to leave the ashram of the monk. Leaving from there with the help of Rater, a shop keeper they get shelter in a leader Prashanta's house. But day by day, seeing the hypocracy of the leader Prashanta they again leave that shelter. In due course of time after leaving Prashanta they accidentaly meet with Janardan and Janardan introduces them to his leader Binod, who is the master of the action of social reforms - when they start to hate kolkata, then Binod impresses them to save Kolkata and lastly Gobor and Padma join in the team of Binod to reform Kolkata to a new city of heaven and joy.
