Dr. Akash (Shilajit) is the protagonist of the film, “Phera”. He comes to a tribal village Shaltora with his wife, Ten years age he used to practice in that village. He asks for a tribal girl Jhinuk (Rituparna Sengupta) but finds her no where. At kopai Guest house, where they were staying, works a little boy Apu. Apu tells Akash’s wife Urmi (Priya Karfa) that he looks after his ill-mother. Akash recollects all his old memories with Jhinuk, while roaming here & there in the village. How they fall in love, how he was forced by his father to betray Jhinuk and marry Urmi. The day they were leaving for Kolkata Apu does not come to work. While searching for Apu, he discovers that Apu’s mother is no one else, but his lost love Jhinuk. Jhinuk tells her beloved ‘Babu’ that Apu is their son and dies. Without knowing the truth Urmi expresses her wish to adopt Apu as they have no child. And as they start this new journey the movie ends.
