    Beyond Criticism…

The general convoluted trail of Bangla cinema has been of ditching and betraying quality for the sake of cheap technique. But needless to say that this film has brought prosperous results to the dying Bangla filmdom. “Poran Jaye Jaliya Re” is the latest glaring example of this schooling but another sub-school has emerged where both “technique” and almost everything is squandered on the name of makings films. Thus “Phire Pete Chai” is a product that’s made by men without sanity and for men without sanity. Such unscrupulous storyline, performances, music, editing, friends and sets make a human being say just one word… Beyond Criticism. It’s a bet that this freakish 2 & half hour ride cant be assessed from any possible aspect. Limitless amateurism has resulted in catastrophe. Mrityunjoy Roy and Shankar Guha (camera) has created distorted frames which can only be seen to be believed (and get shocked). If mainstream Bengali films are labeled as “disgruntled morbid” products by the evolved critics, then these third stream of “packages” are unexplainable conspiracies. At least Vankatesh Films, Surinder Films and other established production houses are afraid to globalization, audience and economical profits. But these whodunits are desperate! Even if a matinee show has 4 people sitting with the writer being one of them. Thus after watching this “thing” you won’t say “I want my money back!” you would say “I want my time back!”
