When we watch a comedy or tragedy (movie), if its good we do not hesitate to admit that the movie made us laugh or sob. But do we that easily admit that we are scared.......
Actually, before watching the movie, I was going through reviews and definitely was not impressed. At that point of time a parallel thought was running in my mind which I mentioned above.
However, after watching the movie I must say you can not really rate it as a "horror" movie that makes you sacred actually.
The basic elements which RGV used (soft toys from some weird angles, mystic background music) is actually cliche. More over when director throws challenge to the audience they come with more mental preparations at times I presume. The first part was however still OK but second part was more of resolving conflicts between believers and non believers of supernatural element. A class horror movie shouldn't give that time to the audience to sit-think-analyze; comparison between crocin and GOD was very funny.
Well ! you get scared sometimes, but not that you hold the armrest tightly all the times or avoid to look into the screen !!!!!
Its 'horror' movie therefore suspense remains the basic element. So no point in destroying that by narrating the story here itself.
'Phoonk' is definitely not waste of time to watch, however not as horrifying as RGV demands it to be............
