Parents relation with children and their sacrifice is the topic of Swapan Sinha's film Pita Mata Santan. Pradeep (Chiranjit) seeks a job in the office. On day he is hit by a car and introduced with Shikha (Rojina) . He gets a job in Shikha's office. After a few days Shikha falls in love with Pradeep and they decide to marry. But Shikha's uncle Bikas (Biplab) is against their relation and tries to seperate them. Pradeep's mom dies of a heart disease and Pradeep settles in a far village with his baby girl Jaya (Mitali). At that time Shikha is pregnant and gives birth to another daughter Jayanti (Piyali). After few years the children grow up into young women. Jaya seeking a job comes to city where she gets a job in her own mother's office. One day Jayanti meets Pradeep accidentally and calls him father as she bas no father. In those days girls fell in love and decided to marry. The same problem rises up again - the difference between rich-poor. To solve these matter's Pradeep meets Shikha and their old memories of love and sacrifies join their relation. The two sisters come to know about their original parents and their sacrifies. They understand these sacrifies and depth of relation. But Bikas finally kidnaps the girls for proporty and gets arrested by police. At last the family is reunited for ever with a happy ending.
