    Prabhu Ganesan (born Dec 31 1956) is a Tamil film actor and producer. He is the son of veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan. A native of Tamil Nadu, Prabhu was the born to Sivaji and Kamala Ganesan. He has an elder brother Ramkumar Ganesan who is a film producer, and two sisters, Shanthi and Thenmozhi. He did his schooling at Bishop Cotton Boys' School in Bangalore. He later pursued a BA in History at Loyola College, Chennai. He was active in sports. He dropped out from Loyola in his second year. He married Punitha in 1981. They have a son Vikram Prabhu and a daughter Aishwarya Prabhu. Prabhu Ganesan has appeared in over 150 films. After his debut in the film Sangili in 1982, he made several films. Apart from taking the lead role, he has acted in several types of roles, including comedian roles and antagonistic roles. Ganesan frequently appeared alongside Tamil actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, and his father Sivaji Ganesan during this time period.
    He received a Best Actor Award in 1991. He appeared in Suyamvaram. He appeared alongside Rajinikanth in Guru Shishyan, in Chandramukhi in 2005, and in Vetri Vizha and Vasool Raja MBBS with Kamal Haasan. He also acted with Mammootty and "Bharath" Mohanlal.
    He starred as a cop operating in Malaysia in Billa in 2007. He recently acted in Kuselan, Silambattam and Ayan in supporting roles, and in Mani Ratnam's Raavana, Maanja Velu and Asal.
    When his fellow colleagues refused to take up the role of Trisha's brother in Something Something, Prabhu took up the role. He appeared in Thamarabarani with Vishal, Raavanan with Vikram, Malai Malai with Arun, Thambikku Indha Ooru with Bharath.His Telugu Film Orange (November) with Ram Charan Tej closed the year 2010 with a tally of 10 films to his credit for the year 2010, including two in Malayalam (Pramaani, Best of Luck), two in Telugu (Darling, Orange), and six films in Tamil.This ever charming actor celebrates his birthday on the New Year Eve, Yes, 31 December is his date of birth. Interestingly, Prabhu is welcoming the year 2011, with his Debut Kannada film titled "Boss" with Darshan as the hero. Prabhu plays an Intelligent, Dashing Special Police Officer who is on hunt for Darshan.
    Prabhu's schedule is busy for 2011 with already 8 Films in his kitty. Firt time, Fans will see Prabhu joining hands with Actor Vijay for the proposed Seeman directed Film.
