The story is about a village where superstition prevails. Leela (Ashney Shroff) and Deepak (Deepak Bandhu) fall in love and marry each other. Deepak leaves for the big city to pursue further studies, leaving behind Leela in the village. Suddenly due to a death in Deepak's family he comes back to the village. Deepak is now shocked to see Leela as the Goddess, Maa Choksha, of the village, wo has been ceremonially appointed by the local priest, Nimi Pandey (Irfan khan). The ruling party i.e. Bacha Babu and Choudhary are threatening Deepak to stay away from Leela. Soon, with the help of friend, Leela manages to runaway with Deepak and she then tells him the whole story behind the reincarnation of a hindu goddess. However, the local priest Nimi Pandey and the village people find them and capture Leela. Deepak gets frustated and then kidnaps Nimi Pandey in order to secure the release of Leela, but the people find Nimi Pandey and Deepak runs away. Now, the ruling party releases an order to shoot to kill, in order to arrest Deepak. Deepak finds out that whole Government, village people & laws are againt him. Deepak is left with no other option, in order to rescue Leela. The question remains, will Deepak be able to convey the truth to the village people and will Deepak and Leela be able to stay together?
