The movie opens with a group of men leaded by Shashanka (Tapas Pal) trying to force a group of farmers to deny them their harvest in repayment of loan taken by them . Raja (Prosonjit) comes to the rescue. Raja`s father, Mangal (Biplals Chatterjee) works as a servant under Shashankar father, Surya Shakhar (DipankarDey) who is a Zamindar. The Zamindar orders Mangal to convince Raja to interfere in her work. Raja is in love with Gouri (Piya Sengupta). Mangal, with the help of her daughter, Durga (Papiya Adhikari) convinces Raja to work as the Zamindar in house. Surya Shekhar sends Raja to escort his daughter, Sunita (Rachna Banerjee). A quarrel takes place between Raja and Sunita and she is left alone. She complains at home. Surya Shakhar plans to break the love between Raja and Gouri. A stick fight competition takes place between Shashanka and Raja cheating with the help of Govinda (Subhasish Mukherjee), Shashanka defeats Raja and marrys Gouri. Raja promises to take revenge by marrying Sumita. Raja stands as opponent to Surya Shekher in election and defeats him. Unwillingly he has to give Sumita`s hand to Raja Sumita remains proud, boastful and naughty at her in- laws house. The film advances with a series of attacks by Shashanha on Raja. Meanwhile Raja convinces Sunita to accept each other as busard and wife. On the other hand Shashanka tries to rape Durga. Durga in anger puts the paddy on fire. Raja takes the blame on himself and is whipped. At the end when truth is revealed Shashanka kidnaps Durga. Raja chases them and fights with Shashanka and attempts to kill him. Gouri begs Raja to spare his life and all is settled at the end. The title is apt and suitable.
