Private Practice has been projected as a complete laught riot and a ‘dam phata haasir chhabi’, but it is basically trash.

The film featuring Angshuman, Pasha and two newcomers Aishwarya and Ratri is about Sankar Kinkar who wears a dhoti, has a middle parting and is basically a cartoon who is mocked at by all his classmates in college. When he comes to know that his marriage is being fixed, he runs away to his uncle’s place , but before that comes across Sobhen who has run away from kidnappers whop are hot on his trail as he is carrying money(which they had obtained from a party). They exchange places before going to his uncle ‘a place so Sobhen becomes Sankar and vive versa.Sankar changes his appearance completely and also comes to know that the girl whom he didn’t want to marry is actually Uma, his classmate’s cousin whom she likes and she stays in that village. He pretends to be someone else and woos her. His uncle also comes to know the truth later and manages to fix his marriage with her though she doesn’t know his real identity as she hates the cartoonish Sankar. The robbers who are hot on Sobhen’s trail also land up there and are later arrested.Sankar’s parents also land up there and in the end Uma comes to know the truth who becomes Sankar’s first ‘patient’ as he is about to start his private practice after finishing his doctoral studies.

Firstly the execution is terrible and when you have a cast of Angshuman, Pasha, Aishwarya and Ratri in the lead, nothing much is expected.Angshuman(of ‘Trishna’ fame) is not much of an actor and the same goes for Bangladesh actor Pasha who had appeared previously in the director’s ‘Juari’.The less said about the two female lead, the better. The songs are not worth speaking of. The supporting cast has tried their best to uplift the film, but in vain.Ramaprasad Banik who has appeared in three films (including this film which is supposedly his last one) since his death has acted well as expected. The plot featuring the kidnappers isn’t funny at all including the part involving the daroga at all.

Thee film just doesn’t evoke any laughter just because of the chosen lead actors who are completely hopeless which otherwise maybe could have been with other lead actors. There is even a parody in the film which features 'Kajra Mohabbatwala' as well as 'O Aamar Desher Mati' at the same time!
