Proloy music rating: 8 out of 10(Ritwika Das wrote on Aug 3 2013 5:18PM)

The songs of Proloy is a sumptuous package equipped to please the ears of one and all. They have been carefully made for all kinds of audience, and the credit goes to Music Director Indradip Dasgupta and the lyricists Prosen,Angshuman and Srijato. There is immense creativity and artistry yet with elements to entertain and suit the likes of the masses.

Roshni Elo is a beautiful track and unique in terms of its innocent appeal. Its a song of celebration and very much Indian in its form and arrangement. This is something very rare these days and is an absolute treat for the ears. Arijit and Anwesha have done a great job singing the well-penned lyrics of Prosen. I personally love the innocent romance in-built in the song.

Haath Dhoreche Gachher Paata is basically a love song, which is again very Indian in its arrangement. The beautiful use of Indian instruments is an added charm alongwith the silvery voice of Shreya Ghoshal. Srijato's words are very pleasing to the ears and the soul.

Kala Koi Geli ,the much talked about item number is slightly different from the ones we have heard. Its foot-tapping and enjoyable ,though it may not be equally liked by all.

Ghum Bhanganor Gaan is an inspirational song which almost gives you goosebumps and stirs up your emotions with the depressing and at the same time soul-stirring and fiery lyrics by Angshuman. Its a brilliant composition by Indradip Dasgupta and K.Mohan's sombre voice is exactly what the song required. The resonating feeling touches deep within.

Ghum Paranir Gaan sung by none other than the latest favourite singer of all, Arijit Singh is sure to impress everyone with its simplistic approach and superb lyrics written once again by Srijato. The sadness and the hope in the poetry lingers on in the mind for long. Arijit Singh lovers will specially love this for the use of his voice along with just the guitar.

On a whole the album is a must-listen. I would definitely recommend it and give it a total 4 out of 5.
