One of the fine movies directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, but not a big hit.
Anil Kapoor excels (and wins a National Award) for his performance as Jai. Although he is past his young prime, he fits into the character well, and even manages the songs and dance (though Kay Sera Sera is Madhuri with the plastic man Prabhu Deva).
Madhuri Dixit too excels in a grayish role. The change in her character is portrayed well. Narmata plays the beauty queen quite normally.
Santoshi's favourite & regulars - Om Puri, Anjan Srivasta, Girish Karnad, Rohini Hattangadi also chip in with their bits. Danny as the menacing Abrush is excellent.
The cinematography and editing is par excellence.
Rahman's music is quite good, but not outstanding. He manages a good patriotic song by Lata Mangeshkar (who renders it on screen as well). Kay sera sera is a great number, well choregraphed too. In Kismat se, Sonu sounds like Rafi the music like the 60's Madan Mohan style.
Recommended for all who would love to see a espionage thriller with Bollywood garnishing.
