Ishani Roy is a leader of Geetali Sangha, a school of dance and drama. Ishani discovers the talent of Shantanu and she performs brilliantly in the drama while Shantunu plays the flute. Ishani introduced Shantanu to her friend Sylvia Violet and her son Victor. Victor and Shantanu became very good friends. Ramen babu the accountant of Geetali Sangha steals money from the fund and makes false expenditures. Shanrtanu, Victor and Ishani went to Delhi for a cultural programme. In Delhi they met with a couple, Mr. Arun Dutta and Kamala Devi. On seeing Arun, Ishani faints. She unfolds her past to Shantanu. She tell him that Arun was her lover once, and Victor was not Sylvia's son. But he was the son of Arun and Ishani. When Arun came to know the truth, his cowardly nature prevents him to accept his son. He expresses his grief for Victor. False allegations were bought against Shantunu by Ramen Babu and he quits Geetali Sangha. Ishani tries to express her love to Shantanu but he did not show any interest in her. Then Shantanu explains to her that, since Victor is her son so she could not take any responsibility inspite of her position in society. He tells Ishani to forget her stardom and became a true mother. Finally Ishani takes the responsibility of her own son, and this bought her closer to Shantanu. The two embraces each other. Thus the movie ends with the unification of Ishani and Shantanu.
