Salim Suleiman have been responsible for giving Yash Raj Films some of the very good tracks, so expectations do rise for Pyaar Impossible which is said to be a young urban love story. So do they deliver once again??? Lets find out.
Anushka Manchanda kicks off the first song 'Alisha' which is the character played by Priyanka Chopra. The song describes the girl Alisha and the type of boy she is actually looking for. Anushka voice features just the right kind of attitude needed for the song. Its a husky peppy song all the way. Salim Merchant too shares the mic with the line 'Alisha jab se tumko hai jaana'. The song later appears in a remix version, which isnt a usual added beat remix. Anushka actually changes her tone and pitch. The husk factor exists more in this remix version.
Vishal Dadlani, has been Salim-Suleiman's choice for every album as of late. Pyaar Impossible is no exception. Vishal Dadlani along with Dominique Cerejo join in for the title track. This soft track has a lot of westernised feel to it and actually sums up for a beautiful romantic number. The song appears in the remix version as well, which varies from listener to listener as to how it appeals to them.
Another mushy track is in the offering with You And Me. This Neha Bhasin and Benny Dayal track is a sweet soft track fitted for the types of urban love story. The track may take time to grow, but once it does you just cant help humming it.
So, while the tracks till now have been quite slow and mushy, its time for some rock n roll with '10 on 10'. This Mahua Kamat & Anushka Manchanda song has a sort of teenage feel to it and is sure to be a favourite among the teen college goer girls. The song also also brings in Naresh Kamath for a couple of lines during the end of the song and turns out to be quite a good fare after a few hearings.
Last comes 'Ek Thi Ladki' which is a story-telling based song. Sung by newbie Rishika Sawant, the song basically tells the story about the guy meeting a girl and falling in love with her instantly. The song has a childish feel attached to it, which on a few hearings, seems good to be the way it is.
Overall, Pyaar Impossible is an album with some very good tracks but all of them being for a very limited audience and definitely not going to find a mass appeal. Its an out n out situational yet pretty decent album.
