Raajneeti was adopted from Mahabharata, and Prakash Jha didn’t succeed to grasp that kind of attention from the audiences, but still atleast he got some stars. But can’t believe that the man who has made the legends like Bombay, Yuva, Guru and etc. can make this kind of disaster. Very badly written and very-very disappointingly adopted script from the great epic “Ramayan” and from the famous tale “Robinhood”.
Actually no need to describe it as you all know what Ramayan is all about and what Robinhood was doing. Still, it can be explain in just few lines.
Aishwarya Rai was being kidnapped by Abhishek Bachchan, who is formerly described in the film as Raavan cum Robinhood. Now Ash’s husband, Vikram, who is a Police Officer, is after Abhishek. Govinda whose specialty is to climb from tree to another, just like a monkey, is in a role of the Forest Officer, helping Vikram in his mission. In the end everybody knows that Raavan obviously dies and the film ends. But why the great Robionhood of the film has kidnapped Ash and what he is upto by doing all this is the big torture, oops I am sorry, is the big mystery of this film. To know this mystery, watch this torture, oops again, I mean enjoy this movie.
Who was the Director of the film?? After watching “Raavan” I just forgot who Mani Ratnam is. The one who had made films like Guru and Bombay, which still after so many years people loves to watch again and again, but of the same people will watch his this film, called as “Raavan”. In a technical way his direction was good, but in a script way, he was pathetic.
Again the so called Mani Ratnam. You will never know from where the film actually is beginning and where the film is actually ending, you will only know when there will be a pain in your head.
There is also a peak point where you definitely will need an aspirin, it’s the flashback scene. Just before that sequence is going to be begun, you will say to yourself “Ahhhh not again that rape kahani, revenge and all”.
Prakash Jha insulted “Mahabharata” by adding many sex scenes and Mani Ratnam insulted “Ramayan” by adding rape sequences. This is what we call typical Bollywood directors.
Superb performances by all of them. Aishwarya Rai screaming in all of the film; Abhishek saying ‘Bak bak bak bak…kach kach kach kach” in all of the film; Vikram running here and there in all of the film; Govinda climbs tree from here and there in all of the film; and Ravi Kishan dances here and there throughout the film. Superb performances, great, mind blowing. I need an aspirin again.
What the hell A R Rahman is doing yaar??? After Slumdog, Delhi 6 – C’mon Rahman; 8 by 10 Tasveer – Ahhhh...Pleasseee; Blue – Are u nuts Rahman?? ; Raavan – Ufff now toh I think he is definitely nut.
In this film all the ‘Maharathis’ has shown us how great talented are they. Mani Ratman has showed his direction skills in a technical way that how good he is; Santosh Sivan has showed us how great Cinematography he does; Ash Abhi and al has showed us how in a horrible way they can perform; Rahman proved once gain to the world that how if one man is on a chane ka jhaad, then how he can perform; and etc. and etc. and etc.
If you want to experience these kinds of great talents from the great Maharathis, then you surely please watch this film. But wait a second; don’t forget to take the whole strip of Aspirin with you :-)
I think “One” would be more than enough!
