    Bani Rahe Jodi Adi-Srk re…..

Aditya Chopra made DDLJ and which changed Shahrukh Khan to SRK and also gave him a romantic image. Makers like Karan Johar and Farha Khan took it further and explored it as much as they can. But Shahrukhs Fans and audience started dividing as few loved Shahrukh the actor [Swades, Chak De India, etc] and rest still loving his normal stuffs [Om Shanti Om, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, etc]. In Between Aditya Chopra also gave us Mohabattein which had grand star cast, exotic locations, big budget and the film too did reasonably well at box office but dint satisfy the cine lovers at some point. After so many years Aditya Chopra returns with Shahrukh Khan and Srk [Actor and Star] with small budget, simple locations, and Simple star cast in “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”.

“Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi ” is story of Surender Suri [Shah Rukh Khan], a simple down to earth person gets married to Taani [Anushka Sharma] due to some tragedy. They share a plutonic relationship but Suri stars loving Taani and expect her to notice his feelings some day. Taani decides to join a Dancing competition which motivates sure to change himself and join her as a different person. He takes help from his friend Bobby [Vinay Pathak], changes his looks and joins the class and become Dancing partner of Taani as Raj [Shah Rukh Khan]. Raj and Taani get along after some initial tussle and slowly Raj expresses his love to Taani. This creates havoc for Taani and what happens next to not to be read but to be viewed.

Story is Simple and down to earth along with expected climax, but what’s makes it interesting is the way it’s been presented. Though people might object to Suri-Raj angle and also it sounds funny when Taani cannot recognize Suri as Raj. Screenplay is good but needed to be bit tighter and flawless in middle of the film. The sudden change of Suri as Raj with all the local lingo, mannerism, style, etc does not digest at all. Sets and location of Amritsar were great. Camera work was decent and kept the mood of the film flowing.

Music by Salim Suleman is superb and grows more after watching it on big screen. Haule Haule and Tujme Rab Dikhta hain [Male] are shot in superb manner. Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte is awesome but not up to the expectation. Dance pe chance was nice. Shiamak as choreographer has done a good job.

Aditya Chopra deserves full credit for this film along with the lead actor. His films will always be compared to his best film “DDLJ” and yes RNBDJ does not come at par or near to DDLJ, but is far better than Soulless Mohabattein. His way of treating this film is good and touches ones heart at human level. He had power to make this film to look much big, but decided to keep it simple and straight which works in the favor of the film, though the treatment might look bit slow or clinched for some. Few scenes are very good especially the both scenes where Taani expresses her feelings for Raj and Suri. The end Credits, Suri –Bobby Scenes, etc.

Shahrukh Khan the actor in this film wins over the SRK the super star as Suri [Totally different than what Shah Rukh Khan has done] was much better than Raj [Typical SRK, with jokes, romance and at times hamming]. He is truly the soul carrier of this film. One does wonder what would have the result of the film if Shah Rukh was not there. With selection of good and different roles , Shah Rukh Khan the actor is growing up immensely and in some time might overshadow the Super Star in big way. Anushka was simple and has done a good job in her debut film. But wonder why Aditya opted for her as the role could have been done by many other bollywood heroines. But still no regrets as she was fine. Vinay Pathak was good and lifted the film at many places with his charms but sadly due to small role leaves dissatisfactions with his fans. Cameo by other Heroines was good, Kajol and Rani looked the best.

So Bol Meri “Filmi Khopdi” is film mein kitna hain dum?

Dum hain, kaafi dum hain. It’s a perfect family oriented Shah Rukh Khan film without forceful emotional scenes or over the top hamming [Except in Raj Scenes]. Don’t expect another DDLJ as that spark of Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra was the top rated. A simple film from Yash Raj camp without mega budget or Foreign Location, which makes us wish that bani rahe Jodi of Shah Rukh -Adi ki re….for long time.
