Hmmm...what do I say?...I am still in two minds...liked it or not..?!...Expectations were definitely sky-high from Adi when I went too see this movie on the first day of its release (SRK yaar - itna to banta hain na!) and so I was honestly disappointed. Adi was trying to say many things, portray many complex shades to his definition of love; but I guess somewhere in the long run it fizzled out and he hung on too the old- Barjatiya tagline of my hubby is my God blah blah.
But -only SRK can play Surinder Kohli and make his audiences pine for his first love with him :-) Only SRK can make the world believe in the power of unconditional love with him. Only SRK can sing Tujhmein Rab Dikhta Hain and have rose petals shower on his lady love on a highway from trucks!!!
But again, guess the good points end there. Raj was oh-no-again - pls pls there was only one Raj (DDLJ) and pls can we have any other name?! Playing Raj in RNBDJ was no great shakes for someone of SRK's calibre...he did it with ease and expected elan.
I wouldn't say that Anushka disappointed but I wouldn't say that she set the screen on fire also with her dance moves in a movie that was supposed to be a kinda musical. The dancing pair was also quite thanda. Songs werent exactly as extraordinarily potrayed on screen as they sounded to just the ear. Sets were awful.
Only saving grace was Vinay Pathak as SRk's best friend - he deserves an award in the Best Supporting Category definitely next year! Only saving grace are the credits in the end - don't miss it - cause thats when you smile at Adi's script of the epilogue honeymoon account - Only SRK can make a hall full of people leaving stop, stare back at the screen and laugh with his voice over till the last pic :-))
