Radhika Apte is from Pune, Maharashtra. She is an Economics graduate from Ferguson College, Pune. She is associated with Mohit Takarkar’s theatre troupe Aasakta in her hometown.
Rahul Bose who had seen her perform in Anahita Oberoi’s play "Bombay Black" suggested her name to Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury who cast her in Antaheen along with Aparna Sen, Sharmila Tagore and Rahul Bose. She played the role of Brinda Roy Menon, a TV journalist, in Antaheen.
She has done Marathi plays like Tu, Purnaviram and Matra Yatra; Kanyadaan with Lilette Dubey; Samuel Beckett’s That Time with Rehan Engineer.
She is doing Sumitra Bhave - Sunil Sukhthankar’s untitled Marathi film where she plays Savitri, a village girl. She will be seen in Sunil Doshi’s Waiting Room, “a thriller” which will mark her entry into Bollywood. Radhika will also star in Akash Khurana’s Life on Life, about a bunch of youngsters working in a BPO and Amol Palekar’s untitled Marathi film.
